§ synopsis
The film, in its own words.
A remotely-recorded liturgical concert film made with 38 cameras, broadcast on Polish Television on December 10, 2020. Adam L. Nurek served as editor.
Missa Vaticana was initially scheduled to be performed by the Military Orchestra of Bydgoszcz with the special guest Lviv Municipal Choir 'Homin' in Opera NOVA in Bydgoszcz. Owing to pandemic restrictions, the piece was video-recorded remotely using 38 video cameras across multiple locations. The film was broadcast on Polish Television on December 10, 2020. Adam L. Nurek served as editor, working directly from the music score to show each phrase and the musical dialogues of the performers — drawing on years of orchestral violin experience to cut with the composer's intent, not simply for visual interest.
- § The commission
- A liturgical concert work — the Military Orchestra of Bydgoszcz with the Lviv Municipal Choir 'Homin' — originally planned for Opera NOVA in Bydgoszcz.
- § The challenge
- Pandemic restrictions made a single live performance impossible — the piece had to be recorded remotely across multiple locations and assembled into one coherent concert film.
- § ALN's role
- Editor — cutting 38 camera sources directly from the score, so picture changes follow the music. (Conductor / director: TODO(claim): confirm screen-credit director.)
- § The approach
- Edit from the score itself — phrase by phrase, following the musical dialogue of the performers, drawing on years at the orchestral violin desk.
- § Distribution
- Broadcast on TVP Kultura on 10 December 2020. (EWTN airing noted on the trust wall — confirm channel/date before repeating.)
- § Documented result
- A national broadcast credit for a remotely-recorded liturgical concert film.
- § Deliverables
- A broadcast-standard concert film (38 camera sources).
